Let’s talk about the Option Topics, they are a collection of 8 topics of which the class (not individual students, as that never works) must choose to complete 2 topics. Any of the topics can be chosen and none are easier or harder than another.
However, because this class is a combined SL and HL class your choices of topics are reduced to 4. Topics A,B and C are for Standard Level only and Option H is for Higher Level only.Thus the choices we (you) have are;
- Topic D: Evolution & Human Evolution,
- Topic E: Neurobiology and Behaviour,
- Topic F: Microbiology, and
- Topic G: Ecology and Conservation.
The options are examined in one Paper only, Paper 3 (and technically because the paper is worth 24% of your grade (SL) or 20% of your grade (HL) these options are worth more marks than any other individual topic and easier to study for as they do not have any extended response questions in them. Do not over look the importance of these topics!
